I a Family Physician who cares for the mentally retarded and mentally ill citizens of the state of Mississippi.  I wrote this song after going to Long Beach, MS after Hurricane Katrina to provide medical care for the mentally retarded clients of South Mississippi Regional Center. I found that the clients were doing fairly well but the staff were the ones in greatest need. Some had lost everything they had, but were continuing to provide care for the clients.

A common sentiment that I heard was that they felt alone and wondered if anyone knew that they were there because they had no way of communicating with others. They were so relieved just to have someone letting them know that they were not alone, and that things will be all right.

I made multiple copies of the CD and sent it out to them and to several other places and organizations. Please feel free to download this song and share it with anyone that you think might enjoy it.

As a result of sending the song out, in Februrary 2006, the Lutheran Church Charities  organized a group of volunteers who drove down from Illinois to do a camp for the mentally retarded clients of South MS Regional Center.  If you would like to donate to the cause or just find out more information, go to  http://lcc.lutheranchurchcharities.org/

I am humbled by the response to"Let Me Know". God surely works through means to serve us. I have written another song entitled "He Works Through Means" which was inspired by the result of the volunteer effort sparked by "Let Me Know." This song is dedicated to the volunteers from Lutheran Church Charities who are coming to South Ms Regional Center. I hope you enjoy it !
